Chamber Orchestra
REQUIREMENTS
The Chamber Orchestra is an elite ensemble, performing professional musical literature from the Baroque period through the Modern period. Members of our Orchestras have opportunities to travel, perform publicly, and earn scholarships and honors upon graduation. Students are expected to be proficient in first, second, and third position, and knowledgeable in positions 5th and higher. Violists are required to read treble clef and cellists are required to read tenor clef.
2026-2027 AUDITION PROCESS AND MATERIALS
All auditions for the 2026-2027 Performing Year will be held on February 28, 2026. Auditions will be held in person at Baton Rouge Magnet High School.

Placement auditions are based on performance ability and music theory knowledge. It is imperative that student musicians are placed in the ensemble that will benefit them the most.
